Should i buy fable 2 or 3

The Childhood and Training parts of the game are kinda slow, but once you graduate from the Heroes' Guild the game gets more exciting. Fable 1 is widely considered to be the best of the trilogy. Just make sure you play The Lost Chapters version of it. Even if it means losing someone that you love. User Info: myute Fable 1 had better features like the A. I in missions had health bars and you would fail gameover if they died. Fable 2 had better all together game play but the story line was a hit and miss with some.

Personally, I liked the ending after my 2nd round. Fable 3 had the storyline but the A. I and features dragged the game down. I hated the map system and I felt that most of the game to easy but some random battles; the enemies would gang up on you and felted unfair.

I played them in order but I didnt play fable 1 until fable 2 was almost out. Fable 3 I got on release date as well the DLC. Also I think that in all fables, it starts off childish because you start off as a kid or teen but it gets better as up grow up with the character.

User Info: Offworlder1. The order that they are in is the best to the worst, sadly every sequel has been a worst game. Fable 3 is bottom of the barrel turd though as its overly simplified as if Lionhead is insulting gamers with the gameplay of Fable 3 and the lass of so many things you could do in the first two games.

I loved the first game, later on accepted the second, but I never finished Fable 3 due to boredom, and the fact its just not good enough, only arrived in Morningwood. User Info: incinerator I've played all three games for several hours. Fable One TLC was the best, hands down.

Fable Three is an improvement in story direction, but still bad in plot linguistics. Fable Two was the new upgrade that had too many software issues. They made the menus too interactive. People are using the word simplified instead of lack of control. You no longer control how you control expressions, just randomization. You no longer have an inventory. This isn't Mass Effect, this has potions, magical items, gifts, furniture, an easter egg.

If you didn't care for the first two, don't bother with this one. Even if it means losing someone that you love. User Info: xKontagionx. How about if someone liked Fable 1 but didn't like Fable 2 except for coop? A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. User Info: Smackdowner1. There are some things in Fable II that are undoubtedly better like being able to choose expressions, having an inventory for multiple consumable items and locking on to specific body parts when using ranged weapons and some things that are a matter of preference like having multiple, individual spells equipped instead of two spells woven together for one effect, and being able to place your own augments in weapons instead of each weapon being preset.

But overall Fable III is a far better game. The environments are bigger, and better designed. The quests are more involving. The animations have improved. There's more world changing decisions. Co-op is so much better. Each player is their own hero. Online players no longer share the same screen. User Info: Fraust. Co op is the only thing really improved. Fable 2 did everything else better.

User Info: themerlin. Fraust posted Not really, better combat, weapons, story and graphics in Fable 3 As the world plunges into chaos, in this the final days of the wretched human race, there is only one antidote to this misery Smackdowner1 Are those "world changing decisions" weaved into the the general gameplay or is it just the stop and halt binary pick one or the other kind of thing?

Not really, better combat, weapons, story and graphics in Fable 3 Really? Cause I thought the combat was much worse. It felt slower and almost sluggish. You couldn't sub-target anymore with your gun. Only real improvement, combat-wise, Fable 3 brought was the cinematic flourishes.

I mean, they were even selling them at the stores and would re-stock if you bought them which completely kills the Legendary feeling these weapons are suppose to provide.

In the past games, Legendary Weapons stood out because they were special and weren't something you could just buy at the grocery store. Fable 2 is very good. Fable 3 is mediocre at best. Dec 11, 2, Fable 3 co-op works, Fable 2 co-op is unplayable. Dukie85 Chicken Chaser Member. Fable 2 is easily the best in the series, but I'd also pick up Fable Anniversary. Dutch Masters Member. Jun 7, Wasn't there talk about how Microsoft is rebooting the Fable franchise? I hope we hear about it at E3.

Sincerest Member. Jan 22, I'll put it this way -- Adam Sessler was right, calling game of the year. Best post-game content, and even better in co-op.

I've had trouble getting into Anniversary, don't know if it was my expectations but I felt it was kind of rigid at least as to what you could do.

I only got about 1 to 2 hours in the game though and it was a while back. Remo Williams Self-requested ban Banned. Jan 13, 4, Fable II is a timeless game, you should still be able to enjoy it. Oct 30, 5, Vire Banned. Oct 27, 5, I played Fable 2 recently and it's still fun - however the combat is kinda ehhhhh. Barrel Cannon The Fallen. Oct 25, 7, There will be a lot of hottakes for Fable 3 in this thread. It's not as bad as people will make it out to be.

It definitely doesn't have as much charm as 2 due to the systems you use in the latter half of the game. Jan 5, England, U. Peltz Member. Oct 26, 9, MetroidPrimeRib said:. The Pie! Chicken Chaser Member. I played through both games again earlier this year. Fable 2 absolutely held up for me, but that may have something to do with it being one of my favourites of all time.

Just a gem of a game, oozing with charm and for the time gorgeous environments and world design. Interactions with random villagers can be pretty hilarious, too. As for I mean, it had interesting ideas. It's just that very few of them were executed well. I'd only recommend it if you end up enjoying the world design in 2 and want to see how certain areas of Albion end up changing over time.

Man, I hope the rumours of an IP revival are true. We need another good game in the series. Filipus Avenger. Dec 7, 3, I loved Fable 2.

It's not a masterpiece in my mind but if you go into it knowing what to expect it does what it is supposed to do. Ahasverus Banned. Oct 27, 4, Colombia. Pretty sure 1 Anniversary is the better game. Cutebrute Member. Nov 8, Arkansas. I thought that Fable 2 had aged poorly by the end of its own generation.

I can't imagine trying to play it now. Never played 1 or 3.
