The Interfraternity Council IFC is the governing and representative body for five national and international fraternities. The council is as a sounding board between member organizations and serves as a place to discuss questions of mutual interest and devise common solutions.
Additionally, IFC meetings function as a common meeting ground to freely exchange ideas and perpetuate the growth of all member fraternities. The organizations place a significant emphasis on scholarship, civic engagement, leadership, and personal development.

The Student Organization Handbook defines a student organization as a group of currently enrolled University of South Florida students who unite to promote a common interest. USF requires all general fraternities and sororities to be affiliated with a governing council under the umbrella of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and with a larger, nationally-based organization that provides additional supervision, guidance, and programming on a wide variety of topics.
The following organization s have either conducted unauthorized expansion activities previously or the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life has reason to believe they may be continuing activity without approved recognition through the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and the USF.
