How do regens work in football manager

Lastly and the least targeted tip of the lot is a good old-fashioned Player Search. The theory here is along the same lines of logic in the previous step and trying to identify really young players who are deemed good enough to already be getting first team minutes at their club. By taking the time to set up your scouting correctly in step 1 and periodically doing the manual checks in steps 2 and 3 a few times a season you should be able to stay ahead of your virtual rivals.

I hope these tips help. If you want to discuss this post, please follow me on Twitter and shoot me a DM. Targeted Player Search filters Lastly and the least targeted tip of the lot is a good old-fashioned Player Search.

This will lead you to make a better decision when it comes to signing a player. One thing that I love and hate about FM is that the potential ability is often a stab in the dark.

With better scouts, this stab may be more accurate. However, it can still be fairly random. This brings me nicely to my next point. Scout every newgen on youth intake date By scouting everyone, you will massively reduce the chances of a potential world-beater slipping through your fingers. This has happened to all of us.

Unfortunately, the SI team made this almost impossible now as the youth intake dates are completely randomised and fall on different dates in the game. You can then flick through each month and look at all the youth intake players. I highly recommend you scout all of these players. To do this, you need to have a lot of scouts, which I mentioned in my first point. This is because there will be months where there are hundreds of players to scout.

I recommend you scout each player for around three months. If you go Control-A, you can select all the players from that month and choose to scout them. Obviously, each player that you scout will not be world-class, but this method slims your chances of missing out on a potential worldie. I understand that this method can be time-consuming and requires a large number of scouts, but it is the most effective way of finding the best regens possible. It will take a lot of time to look through all the scout reports, but the satisfaction you get when you spot a real gem is indescribable.

Good youth academies to find regens It is common knowledge that clubs with good youth academies will produce better regens. This means that if you surf through the clubs with the best youth academies, you will find good players. The main problem you will face with this method is that the big clubs will demand more for their players as they have a larger reputation.

If this is the method you will want to utilise, I recommend that you target smaller clubs that have good youth facilities. This way, you will be able to get good players for cheap. By doing this method, you eliminate the chance of finding good players from odd countries, but it also reduces the time that you would have spent doing the first option.

In the ones I checked this hasn't given any false positives, so I will leave it like that for now rather than delay things perfecting that. Also, to make it easier for the user, I am providing the list of original players to be matched against. That means the user doesn't need to provide the original first season save to build the list, but it does mean that it only works for players 24 and over at the start of the save.

Anyone who is under 24 will likely have variable PA so there is no way to match that using a master list. It also means that I am going to have to add two master lists, one for each database the original one and the winter update one , because PA and apparently even foot value changes between them the James Rodriguez regen didn't match because one foot had changed one point, the Messi one didn't match because original PA was , but after winter update it was Maybe I will investigate allowing the user to open a season 1 save and store the players from that.

It will be more accurate and work for young players too when they get old , it's just more complicated to do both for me and the user. Worth pointing out not all regens come back, some get broken up and their PA spread around, etc so you can't always find or regen or work out who their ancestor is.

I once had a 25 year old Messi regen, but it was too late for him to develop enough to hit his full potential Nice work Scratch. You might also want a donate feature too. Hehe, the bad news is I'm probably going to charge a couple of dollars for it! But haven't decided for sure yet. Assuming I get it released in the next couple of months, definitely going to be discounted because so little time before FM21 it will have to be a different app each year. Android only, at least to start with.

I'm using technology that should let me build the app for iOS too, without too much extra effort, but I have no experience with that, so I'm expecting it to be a steep learning curve. I do want to work it out some time, but will depend on available time etc.

Haven't ruled out a web version, because I can see some benefits to that, and it's easier for me to build, but the major hurdle is uploading a 25MB file everytime you change the save!

I left his footedness and Nationality as my last search, it was an empty search before, but now it has one soul. You can post now and register later. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account.
